Theatre performance which discusses our collective 'act normal' obsession.
Western society has formulated a set of standards that measure how successful one is. For example, your education level, what you do for a living, your (romantic) relationships and your intellect. If you check all of these boxes, you probably live your life up to our collectively formulated ‘norm’. But what happens if an individual isn’t able to live up to these standards?
Are they still allowed to participate within our society? Or do they get eliminated, as if they’re competing in a talent show, and get kicked out?
Director and Stormkamer's artistic leader Hanna van Mourik Broekman decided to create a performance that investigates these questions, called ‘The Please Act Normal Show’.
